News - Explorers!

BORED? Need a new challenge?

If you’re an Explorer then your answer will likely be to try a new activity, make new friends, get more involved in your community and have lots of fun. Explorers are aged 14-18 and we are both Boys and Girls. Explorers happens on every day of the week and covers all of the Moorlands area so there is bound to be an option that suits you. We also go on regular weekend camps and activities as a whole group. Anyone interested in being a leader with Beavers, Cubs and Scouts then we offer a full training programme through our Young Leaders Unit and in addition to the general Explorer Badges we offer national governing body awards such as Canoeing and also a full Duke of Edinburgh’s award programme. If some of this doesn’t suit you then don’t worry, you can do as much or as little as you’d like.

Contact us now onexplorers@moorlandsscouts.org now, find us on Facebook www.facebook.com/MoorlandsExplorerScouts. We are recruiting now in all Units and would love to have you join us…

Explorer Scouts are young people, usually aged between 14 and 18 years old. They make up the fourth section of the Scouting family after Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

We have 4 Units in the Moorlands Area…

Monkey Explorer Scout Unit – covering the Leek Area on a Wednesday night

Loki Explorer Scout Unit – covering Endon and Cheddleton Areas on a Tuesday night

Goblin Explorer Scout Unit – covering the Cheadle Area – COMING SOON on a Thursday night

Moorlands Young Leaders – A training unit for anyone interested in helping out with Beavers, Cubs or Scouts on the 1st Monday of the month

We also run a full Duke of Edinburgh Award programme across the District based from each of the 4 Units

More information about Explorers generally can be found on The Scout Association Web Site at www.scouts.org.uk
