News - Farewells…

At this time of year we always say goodbye to colleagues that are leaving us, for a variety of reasons.  Each year all schools experience a turnover of staff and this year is no exception.

A number of teaching and non-teaching staff are leaving us for a variety of reasons.  The College would like to acknowledge the excellent work completed by the following staff – Mike Buckley, Sarah Jeffs, Lyn Oliver and Kathy Wibberley.

On behalf of the whole College community a big thank you for the work that they have done here, and good luck with their future plans.  We wish all of them well and thank them for their individual contributions and commitment to teaching and learning over the years.

The key to our College’s success is the very high quality of learning that our students experience, and the excellent support given to our teaching staff by a skilled and dedicated team of non-teaching staff.

This year the College sees the end of an era with the departure of Ann Knobbs (after 26 years at Westwood) and Graham Buckett (after 35 years)

All of our staff are motivated by their desire to make a difference to both the outcomes and experiences of our students.  Over many years of superb service Ann and Graham have epitomised all that is good about our College.

They are all proof of the simple fact that you can pay staff to work here but you cannot pay them to care about their vocation; they have to want to do that.  For both of them working at Westwood has been a vocation.

On behalf of our whole community we thank them for their years of service and wish them well in the future.
