News - Industrial Action National Ballot – school remains open

Dear Parent/Carer

Re: Industrial Action National Ballot – school remains open

We have received confirmation that the NUT trade union has asked their membership to take part in strike action in relation to a national trade dispute with the government, not Staffordshire County Council or the school, in regard to school funding.

As a result we have received notification that some teaching staff in our school will be taking part in strike action on 5th July 2016.

The dispute is discontinuous [i.e. a potential rolling programme] national industrial action and as such there may be more dates in future that we would inform you of in advance.

We are pleased to be able to inform you that we will remain open and all pupils should come to school as normal.  Whilst there may be some minor disruption to school timetables, student will be fully supervised and the school meals service will operate as normal.

Yours sincerely

Richard Hey
