News - Sixth Form Open Evening

On a typically wet Tuesday evening, Westwood Sixth Form opened its doors to Year 11 students from Leek and the surrounding area. As they arrived, students and families were welcomed into the Open Evening to the sound of strings and piano music being played by Sixth Form students. It soon became clear that the event had been enormously popular – so much so that, as the presentations began in the hall, there was standing room only!

As the rain stopped, visiting students moved around the College, speaking to staff and current students about the courses and opportunities available at Westwood Sixth. Throughout the evening, student volunteers from the Sixth Form helped the proceedings run smoothly, welcoming guests on arrival, organising the car parking, serving refreshments and helping guests to orientate themselves around the classrooms.  They did a brilliant job!

The Open Evening was a huge success, with lots of students going home enthused by the opportunities available in Westwood Sixth.

For anyone requiring further details on the courses on offer at Westwood Sixth, leaflets on individual subjects can be found on the curriculum page of the College website.
