The sixth form football team got off to a flying start to there football season with a 5-1 demolition of local rivals Biddulph high.  Westwood dominated from kick off to final whistle and we 3 nil up after 10 minutes with Kieran Scotland opening the scoring with a 25 yard left footed curling shot into the top corner.  The second was poked home from close range by Macauley Martin after an inswinging corner by Tom Brindley.  The Biddulph defence couldnt cope with the pressure applied by the industrious work of Centre forwards Sam Chawner and Liam Ngwashi.  It was Man of the Match Ngwashi who put the game out of reach with 2 quick goals after outsprinting the Biddulph defence and coolly slotting home.  The second half proved to be a closer affair with Biddulph pulling a goal back and Ryan Ball making a couple of good saves. However the superior passing of the Westwood side enabled them to dominate possession with some excellent interchanges between Peter Basset, Dean Rhodes and Sam Bostock.  Biddulph did however create a couple of chances but we blocked by the resolute defending of Alec Hoptrofft and Jack Stubbs.  Westwood made a change and brought on Leek CSOB first team played Macalistair Lewis who almost scored straight away.  Any doubts about the result were soon put to bed with Tom Brindley looping the ball over the keeper from 30 yards.
