News - Staffordshire Moorlands District rounders success

Westwood College submitted two Year 10 girls’ teams to the Staffordshire Moorlands District rounders competition.

Westwood B team secured their best result against Cheadle winning 5-2 in what was an exciting and skillful match.  In addition, they narrowly lost to Biddulph by one rounder, the final score being 5-4.

The A team were successful in their first three matches beating Endon, Biddulph and Cheadle, however, unfortunately losing against Thomas Allynes by just one rounder, subsequently achieved second place in the competition.

Undisputedly, player of the match was Sara Cruttenden as reward for her consistent batting, her scoring eight rounders in just eight balls.

Congratulations to the whole team, Liv Cumisky, Liv Tomkinson, Elle Meharg, Jade Hall, Libby Porter, Chloe Sutton, Kuki Pickford, Xenia Balderstone, Kelsey Jenkinson, Sophie Fallows, Kayleigh Ryder, Jemma Dawson, Anna Parker, Finley Adams and Rachel Rhead, for conducting themselves admirably showing commitment and enthusiasm throughout.
