News - Young People’s Book Prize

Young people from Westwood College will help choose the winner of this year’s Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize, one of the world’s most prestigious awards for science writing.  The 2012 Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize is owned and managed by the Royal Society, the UK national academy of science.

What is the Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize?

This prize celebrates the best books that communicate science to young people. The winner is selected by judging panels (of which we are one) of young people from across the UK. The Royal Society has awarded a junior book prize since 1988 with the aim of encouraging the writing, publishing and reading of good and accessible books that communicate science to young people (under 14s).
