News - Westwood Sixth Form Open Evening

SONY DSCWell over four hundred people attended the open evening for Westwood Sixth Form last night. Students from a dozen schools in the Moorlands and Stoke on Trent came to hear about the College’s high quality courses, stunning results (58% A*-B and 79% A*- C), Sixth Form Plus and Inspire programmes.  They toured departments, heard from present students  about their experiences and came away with all the information they need to make informed decisions about their future.

Dan Owen, Director of the Leek Federation Sixth Form said: “In the present climate, it’s not just gaining qualifications that counts, it’s gaining high quality qualifications”. “It was lovely to see the hall packed so full that we ran out of chairs.  In fact we ran the presentation four times so that everyone could hear it.  Making the right choices about the future is crucial, so it was great to have such a large crowd. At the request of many parents who attended last night, we will be holding an information evening in the Spring, with specific advice on choosing A Levels with a view to later degree choices (date to be confirmed) please see for details.
